Vacation Itinerary “The Local” on Hilton Head Island
Looking for the perfect week on Hilton Head Island? We will post a different itinerary for the next several weeks with ideas for ways to spend your days and nights on the Island. Our first itinerary will be called “The Local” as it will be all things that are local!
“The Local”
Day 1 – Surfers Beach
A Day at Surfers Beach! Burke’s Beach which is commonly called the surfers beach is where the locals frequently beach themselves. Additional parking can be found at Chaplain Park near the restrooms. Pop into Harold’s Diner around the corner for a burger, fries and milkshake. Finish the day with a dinner out at The LowCountry Backyard.
Day 2 – Day Tripping to Daufuskie
A trip to Daufuskie is like a journey back in time. Rent a golf cart and take a self guided tour of the Rob Kennedy Historic Trail. Bring a cooler of waters, shop the front porch of the Island Fish Gallery, pop into Daufuskie Island Rum Company to learn how rum is made, grab lunch at Marshside Mamas and head over to Daufuskie Community Farm before heading home. This is a long day, so hire a private chef to cook tonight!
Day 3 – Rent Bikes for the Day
Hilton Head Island has over 100 miles of bike paths and 12 miles of hard packed sandy beach for great biking. Grab a bike trail map and head out for the day. Stop at Southern Coney for a big breakfast before you explore the Island. The Island History self guided tour is great for bikers. Of course, lunch at Signes’s is a must and don’t forget one of her cookies!
Day 4 – A day of sports.
What’s your favorite? Hilton Head Island offers world class tennis, championship golf, paddle boarding, kayaking, water skiing, wave boarding, biking, crossfit, Disk golf, parasailing, jet skiing, and even pickle ball. Whether just a lesson with a pro or a full day, get outdoors and enjoy! Watch the sunset at The Quarterdeck.
Day 5 – Shop til you drop on Hilton Head
You will find fabulous shopping in our local boutiques and shops around the island. Shops are located in Coligny Plaza, Village of Wexford, Shoppes on The Parkway, Shelter Cove Towne Centre, Harbourtown and Shelter Cove. Shopping off Island, the Tanger Outlets offers outlets from almost every brand you have heard of. After spending all your money, pick up a pizza at TJ’s Take and Bake, before heading home.
Day 6 – Last Day of Fun!
Cram as much into this day as possible. Revisit the beach, play some sports, jump on a bike, hit one last shop and of course, walk into a local real estate office to find out what best buys they have. Dinner out needs to be special at Santa Fe, Pomodori, Old Fort Pub, The Boathouse or your favorite.
