Rather than throwing the Christmas Tree in the vacant lot next door…there’s mulch to celebrate inBeaufortCounty, according to Outdoor Architecture, an environmentally-friendly landscape architecture design and green-keeping firm servicing the Lowcountry since 2004.  Local residents are invited to bring their Christmas trees to one of the several recycling sites throughout the county. Additionally, residents can get free mulch when the county grinds up the trees.

Locations where Christmas trees are being accepted include:

• Lady’s Island: Sea Island Parkwaynext to Huddle House; or
  Pleasant   Point Road at the Family Tree Christmas Tree Farm
  Beaufort atBeaufortPlaza near the Plaza Theaters
• Port Royal: TheNavalHeritageParkoffRibaut Road
• Bluffton:Ulmer   Roadnear the county tennis courts
• Hilton Head:ColignyBeachparking lot or U.S. 278 atSquire Pope Road

Take a minute and recycle forever!

Trees can be dropped off 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All ornaments, tinsel, holiday lights and decorations should be removed from the tree.  The program for free mulch will take place from8-11 a.m.on Saturday, Jan. 12, whenBeaufortCountygrinds up the Christmas trees.
