Reading the National Assoication of Realtors(NAR) Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers 2012 all we got to say is right on! In the last year, this report states that over 90% of all buyers went to the web and 42% found the actual property they wound up purchasing in 2o12. Great news. The Island is now going to create a waterfront sailing and rowing club. Down Squire Pope Road this property will replace the location for the rowing club under the Old Oyster Factory. Which brings back many great memories and we are thankful we had this location. What a great Island we live on. Must mention my wife Laurie for resurrecting the rowing club for our High School Students a few years ago. We have our own language when it comes to Hilton Head real estate. We say villas, regimes, harbours and complexes when others would call them condos, condo fees, marinas, PUD’s and projects. We use the word regime for condos in Hilton Head because when a condo is built in South Carolina, a Horizontal Property Regime is formed and recorded. Located 70 miles off our coast is the gulf stream, Hilton Head’s guardian angel. Storms in the past that have hit the gulfstream get bumped north and because Hilton Head is in the cove of the coast it has missed us. The gulf stream also keeps Hilton Head temperatures warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
