Hilton Head Island now offers over 53 miles of public bike paths, 50 miles of private bike paths and over 12 miles of hard pack sand for biking. How does it get any better?  The town has recently been adding more bike paths and informational kiosks around the Island. These kiosks offer information about nearby parks, beach access and areas of interest.

Hilton Head Island has celebrated the Heritage since 1969.  While golf is the main attraction, the RBC Heritage is a tradition where we gather together to enjoy the rites of spring.  It is a time when Islanders, tourists, touring pros and volunteers enjoy azaleas in full bloom, new and old friendships, fabulous weather and a week full of fun.  The Heritage is much more than just great golf, its about tradition. Rather than throwing the Christmas Tree in the vacant lot next door…there’s mulch to celebrate inBeaufortCounty, according to Outdoor Architecture, an environmentally-friendly landscape architecture design and green-keeping firm servicing the Lowcountry since 2004.  Local residents are invited to bring their Christmas trees to one of the several recycling sites throughout the county. Additionally, residents can get free mulch when the county grinds up the trees.

Locations where Christmas trees are being accepted include:

  • Lady’s Island: Sea Island Parkwaynext to Huddle House; or
Pleasant   Point Road at the Family Tree Christmas Tree Farm
Beaufort atBeaufortPlaza near the Plaza Theaters
  • Port Royal: TheNavalHeritageParkoffRibaut Road
  • Bluffton:Ulmer   Roadnear the county tennis courts
  • Hilton Head:ColignyBeachparking lot or U.S. 278 atSquire Pope Road

Take a minute and recycle forever!

Trees can be dropped off 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All ornaments, tinsel, holiday lights and decorations should be removed from the tree.  The program for free mulch will take place from8-11 a.m.on Saturday, Jan. 12, whenBeaufortCountygrinds up the Christmas trees. Residents should bring a container to carry their mulch home.  The project is the result of efforts between Keep Beaufort County Beautiful and Beaufort County Solid Waste Recycling.  For additional information, call Veronica Miller, Keep Beaufort County Beautiful coordinator, at 255-2741 or email her veronicam@bcgov.net.

Our move is official and while the transition was seamless the only little blip in the entire move was our office signs.  We had planned and paid for our great signs 3 months ago and we now have a new sign guy and are charging full steam ahead.  Fortunately we planned this move at the slowest time of the year.  So…if you are out and about, just look for the office with big blank white signs in front and back and stop in and say hello.  The office is incredible and is located at 12 New Orleans Road, right next to Charlies.  We even have our stocking hung at the front desk and the office is decorated for Christmas!

Hilton Head Buyers, Sellers and Turtles

Be the first to comment on this post Categories: Communities and Areas, Food, Fun and Festivals

Hilton Head buyers and sellers have been behaving like turtles lately. Don’t get me wrong, I know they are smart, it’s just that they are moving too slow.  Sure enough, sooner or later they will get there, but if they move too slow they will lose both time and money. All it takes is a little hope, courage and a miracle
